Not worth the moneyJul 14, 2013
When I first purchased these gloves, I was excited to wear them thinking they were good quality gloves. They cost a pretty penny so you'd think they would be good quality. Especially coming from Joe Rocket.
However I would not recommend these gloves. I've put only maybe 1000 miles in these and they are already falling apart. Within the first few hundred miles, the pull tab (which is suppose to be durable) tore in half. Definitely not to be expected from a glove of this price range. A thousand miles later I found myself caught in a rain storm. Upon getting home and taking off the gloves, my hands were dyed black. I thought I could just wash the dye off but it wouldn't come off. Also the pinky is too long and the leather at the palm folds making it uncomfortable to grip the handlebars.
As far as the safety is concerned, I would say however it was well thought out. The padding/protection are located in places where they would be needed in the event of a crash.
The reason I'm only giving two stars is these gloves aren't comfortable or durable at all. If I spend this kind of money on a pair of gloves, I expect them to not rip within a few hundred miles.
Great fit, very comfyMay 23, 2013
It took about 2 weeks to really break these gloves in so they are "just part of my hand".
I forget I have them on... very comfy and protective. I already put them to use when I had a lowslide early one cold morning.
My knuckles would have been *JACKED* had I not had my gloves on. It took quite a bit off the knuckle protectors... so glad I had them on.
Also I can control my iPhone without having to take the gloves off. It allows just enough "electric signal" from my finger to change my Pandora station at red lights without having to worry about the light turning green on my and my glove off. I Velcro'd my iphone to my gas tank which allows for quick and easy access (it sticks,... tested to 120mph) . Also allows me to see whos calling if I want to say "Hello" when using my uClear bluetooth headset.
