You can spend less but it is unlikely you will get anywhere near as good a riding glove as these. The construction is solid and very detailed. I've only had them a month but they are wearing like they are only a day old. I have small hands with large fingers. These gloves are designed to fit tight so you may want to go up a size if you have manual labor hands.

The gloves are great. They are reasonably tough but the fingers are very flexible and long - just what I need with my small palms and long fingers. White color keeps The Sun at bay and perforation lets just the right amount of air in. Honestly, I haven't had gloves that would be so great in hot weather in the sun. No problems with sweating at all in two years, unlike with some other "hot weather" gloves that I'd had. A small down side is that if the air is even a little cool, say early in the morning, it'll chill the fingers well. I tend to carry a spare pair of "three-season" gloves on the motorcycle just in case.
Another down side that may apply to me only is that with the XL size the designers expected a person to have big wrists, which is not my case. It would have been great to have a bit more of the Velcro loops in the wrist area.

I love this glove, it fit perfect and it had knuckle protection. The knuckle part will hurt first few week.
