Cool features, great looks, but lacks a bit of comfortJan 21, 2014

I don't always ride with a full-face, but have been riding one more and more so I picked up a Shoei Air GT back in September. I purchased it from Amazon.com since I am a prime member and when you factor in free shipping, no tax and Amazon support its hard to beat.
My old full face is an Arai Vector helmet which I love. The Shoei is definitely more quiet then my Arai and the internal sun shield is awesome, just slide it back and the shield comes down, slide it forward and it goes back up. I think this is due to the standard shield mount design, the way the air intake works on the top of the helmet and the air damn under the chin (which also helps to keep you warm in cooler weather.
My Arai has a dark tinted shield so when it gets dark out I had to ride with the shield up in order to able to see, but the Shoei gives you the best of both worlds. I still carry extra riding glasses, just in case, but they aren't a necessity anymore.
The Arai feels cooler, when riding, but I don't believe it actually is. It feels cooler because the vents on the top let air into two very concentrated areas on the top of your head so when you are moving you really notice the air (in those two locations only). The Shoei seems to move more air over your head in general, not just in one location. I also picked up a half-helmet, which I will write about separately.
As for comfort, the Arai still seems to fit better. They say each brand fits differently, but I think part of it is due to how many hours I have in the Arai vs the Shoei. I imagine once I have it broken in, it will feel much better.
Fit and finish is great. Not loving the head vibrationOct 01, 2013
I bought this because it is supposed to be a really great fit and quiet. The first part is fine, it fits like a glove after you break it in and get used to it.
The part that is not so great is I really expected it to be more aerodynamic. It vibrates my head back and forth above 60mph. My old helmet was a Scorpion and that was loud and squeaky but it never felt like it made my head shake. I ride a Triumph Daytona 675 and now am considering a different wind screen as that may help. I just expected more out of the Shoei. Lucky I like to replace my helmet every few years. Maybe I will have better luck with a different brand.
Top of the line quality helmet.Aug 02, 2013

You can't get much better than this helmet. Great airflow for living in the south, super light, great visibility day or night, and top notch interior for comfort. If you can afford it, get it. You won't be sorry.
